Placencia is a long way from the Cayo District, and that is the whole proposition here. Rather than moving hotels for a night to see western Belize, you leave at seven, spend the day between Xunantunich and the caves, and sleep on the peninsula. The operator absorbs the driving.
It is a genuinely long day and the listing does not pretend otherwise: ten hours, with three to four of them on the road in each direction. What you get for that is both of inland Belize's headline experiences without a night's accommodation, a vehicle that collects you where you are staying, and a minimum party of four so it does not run as a coach.

Choose something else if you are based in Cayo. From San Ignacio the same two activities are twenty minutes and ninety minutes away instead of four hours — the San Ignacio combination costs less and gives you the same day without the drive.
